The heritage of Mario Maioli's painting activity consists of more than 1300 paintings of various kinds created from 1985 to the present, of which about 1170 are part of Archivio Mario Maioli and the rest held in the private collections of the family or by other private individuals. It is estimated that to date there are in addition about 50 paintings that have been donated by the artist over the years not included in the numbers indicated above.
There are 3 main subjet matter: mechanical parts, abstracts and territorial structures. The painting are usually acrylic color. Abstract paintings represent the greatest activity. Within each type, different techniques have been used including: paintings on canvas, paper and collages.

The Archivio Mario Maioli was established in 2025 by artist and his family, with the aim of promoting, enhancing, preserving and certifying Mario Maioli's artistic and pictorial heritage.

The archive is interested in adding original works currently in circulation not yet included in the archive. Subject to certification that will be provided free of charge throughout 2027, upon provision of documentation to support the request via a form available on demand, reviewed and approved at sole discretion of the Archivio Mario Maioli certification commetee.
